Another characteristic I believe is important for a leader in balance is a sense of humility on a personal level, with a great sense of pride and ownership in one’s organization. Humility doesn’t mean thinking less of oneself – it means thinking of oneself less often.

I believe a leader in balance approaches leadership as a relationship, not a position. He or she shows respect for people, regardless of their position, by listening closely before speaking. The objective is to understand, which takes humility.
